    There are no electrics on a 300 Tdi No engine of car managerment ones anyway.
    The only electrics going to the engine are the heater plugs (Which you don't need anyway) the alternator, the injection pump, and the temp gauge. Thats it so what is he going on about. If you start a Tdi and take the battery off it will still run so it does not even rely on its electrics to run

    He is getting confused with the range rover of the same year. Now there are the ones to steer clear of

    in theory if reasonabley looked after I see no reason why a tdi shouldnt make 500k km and more.

    If treated like a golden child I reckon you could coax 1m Km out of one easily (esp if it was a wednesday morning build)

    I did wonder what the tech was on about.Anyway I took the plunge today and bought a 95 Discovery TDI, one owner from new with 140,000 kms and full service history. Really pleased with the deal and cant wait to get it off road.
