Do you have an adapter for this turbo 700/lt230 conversion?
95 disco auto
Im in the process of building the motor and working out which adapter plate to use not sure if I will use the original auto or use a turbo 700 if using turbo 700 i will have to lengthen the front tail shaft and shorten the rear and new gear box locating mounts.

Haultech and a few others make them, 4L60 to LT 230, none of the bigger mobs do, they only make 4L80 to LT 230
T700 is a far better tranny to use, much more HiPo gear available and a better set of gear ratios to start with, but IF your not going to thrash it the ZF is a good option....You already have and its alot less work
I only thought marks did a conversion to suit the early 4l80e (looks like a t400, not the later that looks like the newer 4l60e), is Haultechs for the early or later 4l60e? Early one the front shaft will hit the pan unless you rotate the 230.
Stroker was good just cost a bit to run (carby), just getting sick of this diesel at the moment, will probably get over it when i calm down![]()
Whats wrong with the 6.5? I always wished I had one in my donk..
have the original 3.9 in a 1990 rangie but looking at say a 4.0 out of a disco and throw on a M90 supercharger I have in the shed + run on straight gas.. thats the plan for now

Can you legally retrofit a carby motor to this car?
How can anyone like MB, it's kinda like liking Fosters
Matt, I ran into Rangieman, cant remember you leaving apparently, ended up the freinds he was camping with were old freinds of my ex wifes but good people ......
As far as legalities goes, as long as the engine is newer than the vehical it is going into and meets it's original emissions requirements and isnt to heavy or powerful for the vehical's strength then it is ok.
E.g VL commodore 5.0 carbi 1988 with all emisions gear into a 1987 RRC would be legal with the appropriate conversion.
Putting a carbi on an EFI engine cant be made legal no matter what vehical it is in.
I went through all this about 2 years ago and this is what I got out of what an engineer told me and what I deciphered from the vic roads information.
May have changed or I may have got it wrong to start with but I thought it was just too much trouble for my 94 80 series as I wanted the carbi 5.0 for some strange reason.
