    [Most likely] a stupid question

When sending items to or from Tasmania to the Mainland, do international shipping rates apply if you use Australia Post? Or is the rate the same or slightly inflated as for shipping interstate on the mainland?

Boy do you know how to upset Tasmanians

Rates are no different to any other interstate destination. Check out www.auspost.com.au

It's all part of the same country, just as WA and NT are!

    Standard Rates.

    Go to www.auspost.com.au

On the Left Hand Side of the screen you will see a link to a postage calculator.

    Click on the calculator.

Enter the TO - FROM postcodes and the weight in the boxes

    Your postage is calculated.

Bulky items are calculated on a cubic formula. However, say you wanted to send a shovel, instead of packing it in a box and having the cubing formula applied, you can wrap it in bubble wrap and the Post office will only apply the weight charge.

I'm not trying to upset Tasmanians! I use British 4wd a bit and was wondering if the shipping charged was international or not because it is always very well priced. I did say it was a probably a stupid q.

Tasmania is one of the best states, does anybody know of Gourlays [sp.] in Launceston? I have been dying for some of their snowballs for months now!

    Lets examine the "Key" wording....International....

IIRC, Last time I checked a globe Tasmania was still part of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Or have I missed something? Have you Tassie guys floated away recently???

Ok admittedly it was a rather blonde question

I'm just suprised it only cost $15 to ship a big box of filters from Tasmania by air overnight... "overseas"

I bought a large chainsaw thru ebay from Devonport a couple of months ago and it rocked up here 2 days later. From memory the actual postage was around $22.00
