    Grommet to become a Perentie???

    Guys,
Got excited and put the hood sticks on Grommet for the Perentie canvas i have.

Well after looking at Grommet with a Cammo Canvas on it i thought "If only i could find a wrecked Perentie"

So where do i find one for the windscreen mounts and all the side bits and attacments??

    Ohh pix...

Somewhere like all wheel trim in the UK sell the parts new, otehrwise a hunt around some wreckers may yeild some results. doubt it though, army doesn't relelase a single useable part of their perenties at the moment.

Have been through the exact same process when I converted mine from a wagon.

After a LOT of enquiries here, it seems the UK is the only feasible source of the brackets over the windscreen frame and above and behind the door tops. The other issue is sourcing or building a roll bar with upper seatbelt mounts which also has adequate bracing. Freight from the UK on bulky parts is a killer. Another relatively minor task is fitting canopy tie down loops along the side of the tub.

I've given up on the soft top idea and sold my Perentie canopy so it now looks like yours, minus the zebra stripes, plus the olive drab.

I can confirm that defenders do still come in full length soft top from the factory - we have shed loads of near new ones here for the police and army... all I need to do is find where they sell the wrecked ones and scavenge some parts

Dont forget the roll bar with upper seat belt mounts.........
The cleats are available in the UK from allwheeltrim. Factory ones are spot welded on, pop rivets would probably do the same job.
