Jees Tombraider, a bit ****ed off today are we By the way, I get better coverage on Voda than I do with tel-scum so that you know

There's cheap and there's crap. A semi-intelegent person can usually tell the difference between the two. The Chinese winches seem to be doing the job and I know a couple of people who have them in the club. So far for most 4WD trips they get the job done. I have been told though the grease inside the motor is crap and needs to be re-packed with quality stuff which would go a long way for durability, etc...

Even Warn make a cheaper version (magnum or something) that is about $6-700 cheaper than the Warn winches.

As far as tyre deflators go, The Stauns are a good bit of kit but could be cheaper as $65 for 4 is a bit exxy. The new ARB deflator looks like a good bit of kit as well and yes it's probably a rip-off or re-badged item from overseas.

    Still, you've gotta be careful.

The other thing is I'm supprised that if it is a pirate copy that the gov import crowd has let it through.

actually it's often western companies that ask the chinese manufacturer to make something 'just like this' for a maximum of $10 (and give em a sample) so they can make more money than they do on the locally made item...

just look at power tools - 15 years ago a makita or bosch or other "reputable" brand was all you could get except cheapo black and decker stuff... now look what we have - I put it to you that we the consumer created the market for GMC and the like...

Look - Like Staun but actually BETTER finished than the deflators Staun used to make and sell for over $90.00 a set (when i got my first set)

And heres the kicker....Price $15.00 per set of 4....
Well that makes them more accurate than the STAUN

The Staun is good for dropping to 18psi, but try to adjust it to say 22psi and the pressures on all tyres will be all over the place.

I'd rather save $80 and spend an extra 2min per trip using a twig. Luckily I got to try a set someone else had bought.

I have to say th Stauns are a PIA to set and get right.

I have just played around with mine today and set then to 14psi, so far so good. Tested all 4 of them and work well for now

I wouldn't buy another set, the ARB ezy deflator looks like a better bit if kit (probably want a fortune for those as well )

I have stauns and like them, the only problem i had was when 3 different people borrowed them at a bbq and moved the locking ring and they were adjusted.

As for cheap, well i bought a cheap nast compressor on ebay for about $100. Still going strong after over 2yrs of service. Matt

Your Right, ARB claim to invent alot. But in fact they outsource 90% of there work and products.
Smart companies get others to make it.
