Series 3 82' what's it worth and what to look for.

    Hi all,

Posted this in REMLR, and thought I'd put it here as well to get others opinions.

I am looking at a 82' series 3 ex mil and have a few questions.

The unit is in fairly good condition, running and registered.

What are the major things to look our for?
How do I tell if it is really ex mil?
    What is a realistic price?
It is complete with the seats in the back (i.e. 11 seats in total) but the compliance plate says 3 seats, is that normal and what is the go with having in excess of 3 persons on board?

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers tdi130dualcab

    G'day Ttdi130dualcab

There should be no problems registering it with the rear seats IF it has the 11 seat compliance plate on the radiator support panel from production,(then it is just a case of getting the Transport Dept to change documtation) there are other ex military vehicles registered as 11 seaters, they are listed as Minibus, body type minibus, private owned, it would depend if it had seatbelts in the front, as when built they didn't, but were probably fitted post auction, thence the 3 seat utility registration, you can fit seatbelt mountings "Discreetly" in the back, by placing the mounting plate under the seat box the full length of the rear body, but check very carefully what is required if you have to do that, as I have seen some real bodge jobs that totally destroy the rear body and make it very unsightly.

    cheers
