Great effort and a great example of a community sticking together and getting the job done.

    Good on 'em.
    Cheers

G'day All, This is a great example of community spirit, lets hope that nobody gets injured from the work done.
In this case it's abloody shame that the Military were not called upon to repair the bridge, yes I know the Military cannot act unless told too by thier collective political masters (w*****s) JH was too busy showing off in Sydney today, this would have been an excellent training exercise for the lads and ladies in green (whom I support wholeheartly) anyway good on the community for taking matters into thier own hands, now tell em to send the bill to Vic roads cheers Dennis
PS Some Pollies wouldn't know you were up em with a steam train till u blew the whistle!!! fact...

I can sympathise with them - my access has been very "iffy" since the fire in January because of a badly damaged creek crossing. So far, after five months, it has been surveyed and had an inspection by archaeologists. But nothing has happened except advice not to use it as it is dangerous and a threat of legal action if I so much as take a shovel to it.

Nothing new to them. Licola is one, of a surprising number of small places, in this country that still does not have mains electricity connected. The entire town and valley all run on generators.

The cocky bridge, they HAD to build for themselves, is a hell of a lot safer to use than the government one, that got washed away.

    Shorty.

G'day All, Larry, it's the same in NSW the Govt think NSW is Sydney and the outback is Rooty Hill and the rest of us can go and jump, we (here in Cessnock) have to put up with letters to the editor in our local rag about damage sustained to their precious cars on our poor roads, well my answer to that is stay in bl**y Sydney,NSW and we will keep our hard earned tax $$$$$'s to ourselves, and yes I know you are just joking about poor delipidated roads/bridges but these sorts of things occur far too often outside the city limits, and it's no joke.,believe me cheers Dennis

ah but it's in Victoria and Mr Brumby and JH would have to wrestle for political point scoring (look at the murray/darling "agreement" fiasco)... no surprise there is no real action apart from community based stuff like the CES and CFA.

Anyway, it's a blardy solid lookin bridge if you ask me - I'd like to see vicroads do better!
