Cold dry and windy, no sign of any rain so far. Maybe tomorrow, but will apparently be very coastal, nothing into the catchments.
Still things are definitely looking better.http://www.sca.nsw.gov.au/dams/images/070719.JPG

Lucky bugger you, Uncle Ho, living there in the north-eastern suburbs of Caboolture. T'was 5 here outside this morning and 10 inside but 21 at noon in beautiful downtown Norman Park. Was 25 at noon Tuesday and had to doff the parka and flannie. today was the coldest am I have ever had here. Missus Numpty at Caboolture probably had to don her fleecy lined g-string. T'was nice standing in the sun outside the shed sorting taps and milling cutters until swmbowq arrived home with female ideas of male activities. See you at Nambour swap next weekend 27/28th, and Petrie Historic Motor Cycle 29th.
G'day Brian Hjelm :)
Aah! Norman Park, that brings back memories:), grew up there (D'arcy Rd.) went NP state school from prep to scholarship (8) and then on to Balmoral State High.
7.30 am at beautiful Godwin Beach was +2 deg:eek: as we are east of Caboolture and just off the water, I wonder what my daughter's place is out the back of Morayfield,or Incisor at the AULRO Central, was 0.5 yesterday :o and I probably will be at Nambour Swap on 28/7/07:)
cheers
G'day Brian Hjelm :)
Yup! got banned for life 3 times from the "Astra" :D and have fond memories of the "Flea Pit" in Myall st,also was a regular at the Hawthorne, and was there the night that Erroll Rogerson put his Customline 1/2way up the side of a house in Hawthorne Rd, and survived, got known as the "Hawthorne Superman" when I got a license my usual haunt was the "Planet" at Camp Hill or the "Alambra" at Stones Corner, was one of the "Stones Corner 500" as well as regularly chucked out of Landlands Park Swimming Pool:D I was a good boy, and never got caught by the plods:cool: Then I went to Sydney and really found out about life & Motorcycling:woot::ehigh5:
cheers
Were you around the night Errol Kucks rolled his 39 Ford twice? Once on the velodrome in Hawthorne Park, and later on Lytton Rd. near the Tahiti turn-in.
His sister was noted for her friendly nature.
Customlines seem to have had an affinity for climbing into houses. A mate of mine put one into the master bedroom of a highset house in Waterworks Rd. Red Hill. I did manage to put a 40 Plymouth under a house cnr Sydney St. and Mark St. New Farm & out the other side and finish up half under the block of flats next door. Pulled the guards free of the front wheels, took off the fan belt as the fan was jammed firmly into the radiator and drove home.
G'day Brian Hjelm :)
Yeah! you can't do stuff like that anymore :( they come along with the jaws-of-life and cut you out of what's left of the late model "Safe" car that is totally destroyed, I rolled a 39 sedan cnr of Hawthorne and Virginia Ave just below Lourdes Hill School, chasing a MG, over on the P/side, pushed it onto the wheels and continued the chase, got him too, he didn't spit on another local girl again;)
cheers
Are you sure you were not being chased by the nuns for perving in the dormitory windows?
I do wonder how I survived my early driving and riding years. Upside down in my own and mates cars. Motor bikes caught in tramlines and then having a long slide down the bitumen. Into ditches and half-over. T-boned by drunk coppers at Brunswick St. and Merthyr Rd. A over T in a midget speedcar & photographed upside down above the top rail of the fence. This made The Sunday Mail sports pages and didn't my oldies play up. I quite forgot to tell them I had the car and was racing. Onto the roof in a Cortina GT between BP Bend and Castrol Corner at Lowood. Slammed in the kidneys a couple of times by wayward semi-trailers coming around and kissing the cab on dirt roads. And so on.
