G'day,
So far I'm down to two vehicles a choice between an 89 Perentie 2 door Ex Salvo's hard top and a 99 Defender 10 years younger, less kms and cheaper. I drove both and have opted for the Defender. The Perentie brought back too many bad memories and just too agricultural, compared to this defender which behaved itself nicely on the road.
When did the 5 cylinder diesels first become fitted to Defenders?
Because this one has the 4, I was under the impression that they were fitted with the 5 cylinder in 99.
Regards
Mykeeta

Are you shure it's a perentie?? The salvos sallyman vehicles were all civilian vehicles.

Yes, the Gal sub frame, body panels, gear box, bull bar, PTO winch, jerry can holders on the back, black out lighting, dash, seats, doors, side body storage, the list goes on, even the dark green paint.
On second thoughts you may be correct, the Perentie style were offered to civilian markets such as Salvos and Les H.
Yer second what garry said as mine is a Td5 1999
