my mate Mark, the ex-JRA Perentie engineer who had a 110 met him in Tassie quite a few years back.
Classic line at time on seeing "the hat" to his then fiancé...
"who does this bloke think he is, the Bush Tucker Man.....? "

Mum has met him, again quite a few years back, a number of times in the NT on his way Barra fishing.

I remember the white 110 coming into the Moorebank JRA workshop fresh from Caldwells paint shop - must have been 1990 or early 1991.
I don't recall it having the side decals fitted though, maybe they were fitted later.

We also had Malcolm Douglas' 110 in & out several times around then, often with a large crocodile (replica) on the roof.

I met him a few years ago in 2002, I think!
LRA was launching the upgraded D2 to motoring journalists from around the country.
I spent 2 days with them at Drysdale River Stn in the Kimberley, as part of the launch was a couple of day's in a pair of Jetrangers exploring the area. We went to the old WW2 Air Base at Truscott, did some fishing in the Prince Regent River and General Exploration of the area.
Australian 4WD Monthly put out one of there first DVD's after that trip, which showed a fair bit of the area.
Back then Pat from 4WD Monthly did the filming with a handycam.
I found Les to be a nice bloke, knew the area and people very well. At the time I think he was driving his own D2 discovery.

if you think about it, Lez could earn himself a nice little package buying landrovers and slapping on a few les hiddins signature stickers, maybe a set of signature embroidered seat covers and practical acessories like pioneer tool mounts

I like this line from the link posted on the first page:

"While travelling in Cape York, Les stops in a patch of scrub and points out three varieties of edible plants within the turning circle of his Land Rover."

So what! There's at least two Macdonalds and a KFC within the turning circle of my Landrover. What do you expect in a vehicle that's practically incapable of doing a U-turn? It must be a veritable smorgasbord.

Me too - that is definitely my favourite 110.
