Thread: Cape Palmerston

has anyone been there?? Looking for a new fishing spot and would like some more info, thanks.

A friend of mine has a leasehold on the island off cape Palmerston. So, they go there all the time. They catch as much fish as they can eat usually and are limited by their refridgeration capacity.

I don't know whether this is abnormal for the area or a particularly good spot. I've caught my two largest fish up there, a large cod and mackeral.

Just a story, we were down fishing off the beach one night, and I caught a HUGE brim. Certainly the biggest I'd ever caught. Anyway, put it on the back of the rangie to take up to the house. I came back a few minutes later and my friend had filleted it and used it as bait.. LOL. Unless it's 20kg they put it back as they can't be bothered cleaning it.
