they are great, chain driven OHC

they were used in mid 80's nissan laurels (japanese taxi's) and can do a huge mileage

2.8 litre, they are the diesel version of the nissan L28 (280Z) motor. they love to rev so don't need to change diffs or go 5 speed. they are 6cyl so are easy on the gearbox. :D

my swb '84 nissan with a 2.8 petrol peaked at 159.5 kph :eek:

though in a series 3 with drum brakes etc it's a once in a lifetime thing :p

It was pulling 6000 rpm on the rev counter which would be about right :eek:
