wd 40 is very good stuff, inox is also very good and it's made here.
if you really want to free things up [especially turbo wastegates and actuators] use mouse milk, it works better than the rest.
What else could a man want...
Besides vise grips, cable ties and a can of beer.
Just put a new alternator on my ISUZU 110
While we were installing it I quized the auto electrician about protecting the electrical components with Wd40,RP7 Inox etc. especially after pressure cleaning engine bay or water crossings.
As far as giving a squirt into the guts of the alternator as I'm sure a lot of you do, DON'T DO IT !!!! The spray will get onto the brushes , turns to paste , and eventually wears them away. Won't be doing that again.
I agree, INOX is great stuff. The Lanoline sprays work well too.
That's interesting Brian, didn't know they were still in business. As a young apprentice, we used stacks of their various products, from belt dressings to aerosol anti-seize to resist-ex for protecting machined parts from corrosion.
Oh, and FWIW I'm an Inox user too. Buy it in 20 l drums. Much, much cheaper than an aerosol can.
