I worked as a Sales Rep, Sales Manager, and Marketing Manager with companies who had Local Govt. bodies as major customers. I saw first hand the degree of nepotism, favouritism, downright graft and corruption, dishonesty, laziness, who gives a s*+t attitude, etc. that existed in a distrubingly high percentage of these bodies. I could tell you of several National Party controlled councils in Qld. that appeared to be working from a procedures manual, so similar were their dishonest activities. all of these at one time had a governor of the National Party as Chairman or local MP. I could name names. One former mayor of a Qld. council whilst discussing the findings of the CMC at a social event, claimed nothing like that went on at their council. Several of us looked around at each other and one said "Well, *****, you were either in on it and denying it, or too stupid to know what was going on".
