    Ha! Just ordered new Defender

I've just put down a deposit on a shiny new Defender

It will be built in September or October and delivered around Xmas time.

How excited am I? Haven't told the missus yet, but at least I have a few months to break the news.

I didn't want the metallic dark green (Tonga Green), so I had to get the Adelaide dealer hassle and cajole the UK to send a plain old flat dark green (Keswick green) one. They have been very (surprisingly?) helpful.

    White roof too (of course).

And people did a poll on my missus finding out about the S2A!

I take it that this is the new Dealer?

How did you find them? I had a bloke through here yesterday who is keen on a new Rangie (to update his Disco II) but he has been a little burnt by the previous Dealer down there.

Congrats on the order, if I come home for Christmas I want a looksee!

Could this be Ron Part 2 but with a longer lead time?

Well, at least the colour is local.

Could have gone for Bolivar Brown I suppose.

They have been excellent so far and a 110% improvement over the old dealer (can you get more than 100%?). They have a fair old range: LR, Jag, Astons, Rolls, Lamorghini (or is it Maserati?), Volvo and VW.

Salesman actually knows quite a bit about Land Rovers which makes a nice change.

They seem to have good contacts in the UK, because I was initialy told flat out that I could only have metallic green - take it or leave it. However they made some calls and sent some emails and now the colour I wanted has "become available". Nice to see them make an effort.

    Congrats..

Seems the lead time has sharpened somewhat. Mine has a build completion date of 30/6/03, & took til December 03 to get to Customs. Took delivery that Xmas - just.

    Congratulations!

I told my wife that I wanted a fender. She said D3's were too expensive. She sat in a fender and then a D3, so we got a D3. I couldn't get her into the RR

Well, I know that she wants a new pergola and some sandstone steps put into her garden, so I can see some negotiating ahead.

I think she will have the upper hand!
