Anyone planning a trip to beaches around Lancelin be aware of the following live firing exercises

Lancelin Defence Training Area - Live Firing for August 2007

This broadcast is sent on behalf of Defence Support.

Please be advised that an Army live firing exercise will be conducted on the
Lancelin Defence Training Area during the following times:

0700h 7 August 2007 to 1300h 10 August 2007.

During these times access to the range will be strictly controlled. Warning
notices and sentries will be posted to prevent entry into the target area.

The danger area for the activity extends 2.5 KM out over the ocean. All
water craft are warned not to venture closer than 2.5 KM to the shore.

It should be noted that the handling of unexploded ammunition is extremely
dangerous. Should any unexploded ammunition be found, it must not be
disturbed or handled and its location reported to the nearest Police Station
or the Lancelin Training Area Caretaker.
