how much should i be expecting to pay for both radiator hoses, fitted, new coolant, bled and pluged into the diagnostic com on a Disco TD5? is the diagnostic needed?
Cheers Steve
It is in at the mechanics, the head is fine they said it would have been done last week, but the apprentice opened the box for the hose with a knife and cut it. had to reorder the hosethey quoted about $450-$500 for the rest. is this resonable?
Yep thats for hoses, bleeding, fitting and clearing any faults in the ECU. how much should I pay?
sounds about right. It's a D2 it's expensive to repair
Fitting and fault finding the ECU, that might be the costing on the cake, now I'm not a mechanic but I wouldn't expect to pay more than $250 MAX for hoses and bleeding alone. I can have a look in my price book tomorrow if you tell me what hoses (give you an idea of the cost of hoses alone) if you'd like. Bleeding is easy and takes no time at all.
Chosen
Top Hose $90, Bottom Hose $90, Fitting $75, Diagnostics $55 and new cap
The only "radiator" cap is on the overflow reservoir.
The fault clearing of the ECU is a 2 minute job, fault tracing though can take as long as it takes. $55 is probably their minimum labour charge.
You didn't mention the cost of coolant but given you can get a 20L drum of pre-mix O.A.T. coolant for no more than $95 then there's a max cost for that.
