$64K is for a Petrol V6 though. I understand that the petrol V6 engine is not all that well loved due to the fuel consumption being quite high.Quote:

I can't help but think that LR are selling the petrol D3 SE's at a very good price point at the moment. It really does seem to be a good deal - are they discontinuing the petrol V6 does any one know, I know they don't sell it in the UK market.
By the way these are un-biased comments as my TDV6 D3 is no longer for sale. I must have been mad to even think of getting rid of it!

In addition, I also wanted to have a real "off-road" weekend car, but just couldn't bring myself to treat "Ralph" (our D3) that rough - he's just too new. Sure he's been off road a couple of times, but never anything near to extreme or damaging. I just couldn't bring myself to throw him into a deep mud hole and properly have fun! I know others have / do and I take my hat off to them. So we've just bought a 1990 Isuzu County 110, that's going to be prepared to be a true off-roader and the D3 remains as our day to day car and for touring in.
To be completely truthful, I also think that as much as I love our new Isuzu County to bits and have great plans for it, I think it's relative un-refinement made me appreciate the D3 even more than ever!
One life and all that, so... Business loan it is then... anyone know any good deals :D
As the owner of a Disco 3 TDV6 HSE, I can say that you should keep looking for your sub $70k TDV6 SE. I looked at the Prado, LandCruiser and even Lexus LX470 before choosing the Disco, and was won over by the superior engineering, technology, design and just sheer driveability. The Pajero diesel is outdated and slow compared to the up-to-the-minute TDV6. The Disco 3 will outperform your Rangie in every respect, and the quality issues with the early models have been ironed out. For me the only issues were software based and were fixed with a simple patch. Quality issues are now history, but are often quoted by Toyota/Nissan bigots to justify why they spend top dollar on such primitive machinery that drive like barges. If you don't need 7 seats, you might want to consider an RR Sport, or one of the early 5 seater D3's which seem to command lower resale.
So walker have you made you mind up yet?
