Dont touch a Prado, theyre as crap, cramped and not really luxurious, they are though a great motor, plenty of power, dont touch a manual, clutches are crap, auto is good from what I hear if you can get one and with 240ltrs fuel underneith, they are bloody heavey when full.

My Mum owns one for towing her van around, she loves it, I like it for a road car but is crap off road shes on her 3rd radiator, second clutch amongst plenty of minor dramas.

Paj is meant to be a pretty good truck, plenty of go and I havnt heard anything negative about my uncles one but he doesnt go on dirt roads at all.

They are very electronic but thats nothing different than any of the others.

The Rangie would be the pic of the bunch, mainly because.........This is a Land rover based sight and were all biast.

D3 would be what I would be looking for, I want every one else to work the bugs out first for the next 10 years and then I will see what all the gadgets are like then.
Hi thought I might add to the comments. I have a 2007 VRX NS DID auto Pajero. It is a great car! Easy to drive, comfortable plenty of go. Good tourer (MEL to ADL and back so far) I have taken the Pajero 4WD'ing with a mad Defender owner on this forum (yes you Michael) The Pajero did every thing the Defender could do and did it without complaining (a lift would help though). I am new to this game so it made it easy for me as I could not always follow the line that was set before me (for fear of getting a rock the size of a brick through the windscreen) It was a bit scary taking out a brand new car in the wild so am now looking at a defender so I don't stress so much. If money was no object I wouldn't worry but it would be a real strain if the car was written off in the bush and insurance didn't cover it. The kids love the car, the wife loves the car and I find it a great all rounder. Just need good rubber (get 17" wheels, the 18's limit your choice of tyre)
