Time for a new 4WD....but what to get??????

I know that this is not really the place to ask cause you are all going to be so biased, but I love this place just to throw around ideas and you will porbably come up with some ideas I never thought of.

So the D2 is going and I am looking for a new 4wd. Since I have the Rangie for the Rough stuff the new one is an everyday driver for me and is to be used for touring. (mostly outback).

It has to be less than $70k drive away and my preference is for a used car (not new) as I keep losing too much money by nuying new cars. It also must be diesel and have a bit of luxury to it.

At the moment I am looking at 3 choices.

    1. 2003 TD6 Range Rover
    2. 2007 Prado Grande
    3. 2007 Pajero Exceed

I would also add the D3 to that list but I have not seen a TDV6 SE model for under $70k yet as there are not many used ones around

So any coments on them? Reasons I should buy one or the other?

Yes you are right, I do want the Rangie. But after the bad experiences I have had with the D2 I keep thinking......how much is it going to cost me to keep running! . Also will the depreciation on the Rangie hurt me. My D2 has depreciated 55% in 3 years.

He said it has to have a bit of luxury about it.......

Dont touch a Prado, theyre as crap, cramped and not really luxurious, they are though a great motor, plenty of power, dont touch a manual, clutches are crap, auto is good from what I hear if you can get one and with 240ltrs fuel underneith, they are bloody heavey when full.

My Mum owns one for towing her van around, she loves it, I like it for a road car but is crap off road shes on her 3rd radiator, second clutch amongst plenty of minor dramas.

Paj is meant to be a pretty good truck, plenty of go and I havnt heard anything negative about my uncles one but he doesnt go on dirt roads at all.

They are very electronic but thats nothing different than any of the others.

The Rangie would be the pic of the bunch, mainly because.........This is a Land rover based sight and were all biast.

D3 would be what I would be looking for, I want every one else to work the bugs out first for the next 10 years and then I will see what all the gadgets are like then.

Why are you offloading the D2 ? warranty about to run out ? Personally i would hold onto it rather than go thru the same with another 2nd hand car, forget the Playdoh my mate has one and its as cramped as buggery and heavy on the fuel for a tdi .
