I am pretty sure that they all have their slight differences within the states/territorries.
Vic window tint must be 70/30.![]()
Check the states' road authority websites, they should have something like NSW's Vehicle Standards Information sheet for tinting.

For NSW, passenger vehicles registered/glass tinted after 1 Aug 1994 - side and rear windows must maintain 35% VST (visible light transmission).
If your vehicle was first registered before that date (dark as you want), you could always claim the tint was already fitted. When replacing older tint, the rules state no darker than 35% VLT.
For utes, vans, buses and trucks, your front side windows require at least 35% VLT if first registered after 1 Aug 1994. Rear side and rear windows have no requirements.
