    A real failure to proceed

I just saw one drive through Sydney's northern suburbs The unmistakable shape of a fairly new Rolls Royce covered by a white sheet being carried on the back of a tilt tray. I just wish I had a camera.

They've been throwing sheets over them for decades.. when was the last time you saw a RR on the back of a truck.. never.

Reputedly the official line as Dobbo suggests is that they never ever break down, just fail to proceed.

when they stopped in the 1920 & 30's they used to erect a screen around them on the side of the road so no one saw them broken down and being repaired the repair crews used to use motor bikes with side cars

There were two people in my car myself and a workmate, both of us agree it is definately a Rolls under the white sheet, the only visable part of the car was the overall shape, and the tail lights (exposed through transperant holes in the sheet, the sheet looked like a custom fit for the vehicle). It was seen driving through Northern suburbs southbound, we followed it to Redfern where we turned off and both of us assume it would be heading towards an exotic car dealer in the Leichardt area.
