That would mean that the Disco shocks from Bilstein would do the trick (without having to modify the eye of the Patrol shock) Bilstein rears are 620/390 in length.

What is the free length/poundage and hub to guard measurement of your Lovell's springs?

Do I understand you correctly - you use Patrol shocks in the rear - you have modified the lower shock mounts (read replaced them with Patrol mounts)?

I was under the impression that the pin holes on Patrol shocks were larger than those of the Disco?

Sort of.

The Disco2 shocks are all eye to eye, as is the Patrol rear shock. The front lower shock mount on the Disco 2 puts a bar through the normal shock eye (the bar pin) and bolts down at either end. The problem is that the standard Disco2 front shock can not have the bar pin removed from the bush for reuse, so you will have to buy an aftermarket bar pin.

Gday Franz,

No, my front shocks are absolutely bog standard Bilstein Patrol rear shocks with 16mm (I think) bushes in it, which are exactly the same as what you would run in any aftermarket shock for a Disco2 irresepctive of what lift was in it. The bush is just a normal standard off the shelf item and nothing trick or custom about it. If I break a shock I can replace any of my 4 shocks with any Nissan Patrol GQ/GU rear shock. The shock has a normal aftermarket barpin pressed through the front lower shock bush, and every other bush has a standard 16->12mm metal crush tube in it. It really is nothing out of the ordinary.

No, just rear Patrol shocks in the front. Not modified at all.

Operation 4 inch lift is happening

Springs have been changed from Dobinson to Lovells due to the lovells being alot cheaper and yes your reading correct

Shocks have also been changed from bilstein to OME now Pro comp, Why I hear you ask, only because I have more option with the Pro comp as far as travel and again considerably cheaper

since Im saving so much cash with the above options rather then modifying the bump stops Im going to buy some at the moment the only place I can track them down from is Equip so more research is required

I have sorced extended break lines and ABS from Slick Rock fabrications at a hefty price

Ive also ordered a pair of Firestone Air Suspension for the rear and a heavy duty compressor and tank to do both the suspension and the tyres

that leave me with needing the front ACE sway bar links so that they can be used on the rear and to modify the chassis support member

Yes Franz i am using the standard long travel Bilstein D2 shocks in the rear this isn't the problem, it's the fronts that are the problem, where slunnie had his bar/crosspin made they wouldn't do one for me, so Phil made one for me, the truoble with it is the shock move across the pin and flogs out the bush and also because it's a Patrol rear shock it needs a reducer bush to fit the front D2 upper shock mount too.

At the moment i'm running a D1 top and bottom shock mounts

If the front long travel D2 shock made by Bilstein had the same open and closed length as the rear, it wouldn't be a problem.

Im use to that I owned a patrol which viered to the left while stock
