Hi Everyone
This is quite a long thread, interesting, informative and nasty. All the makings of a great thread.
It does appear that I may be the cause of one of the members here creating a ruckus and I don't encourage that but sometimes you can get an equivalent quality product cheaper. I know because I sell them every day. I do agree however and I would personally pay double to get it right 1st time.
I mainly sell Lovells coils and often Dobinsons coils and kings but rarely, depending on what I think is best for the price and application. If you need special build Dobinsons coils I am privileged to be able to get them made at good prices and therefore I pass on the savings.
Lovells special build coils are very expensive so I just don't go there unless you are happy to get a pallet of them.
Some of you may know me as 4WD Stuff on Outerlimits. I have owned a Rangie myself and played with a few combinations including 4" lifts and have sold quite a few.
I am not sure if you are interested Slunnie but I could get those perfect coils made by Dobinsons cheaper than what you are currently paying at Lovells.
As it is the 3.5 - 4" lift on a Disco 2 that I have been selling has identical spring rates to what has been quoted but I am sure there would be design differences.
One problem you can and do have is every vehicle has slightly different accessories and weight it carries therefore the perfect spring may be perfect for one but not another but it is a very good start. Therfore I have used a couple of different combinations depending on how the Disco is loaded.
Up until now I have had these coils in stock at my disposal but not at the moment so there is a 2 week to a months wait depending.
Anyway I am quite happy to supply coils to Slunnie or to Slunnie's specs as he knows more about Disco 2's than I do.

p.s. I nearly bought a Disco 2 recently but I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee instead![]()
Now I feel dirty and need a shower.
