The blade grinder doesn't give the consistent grind needed for an espresso. It should be OK for plunger or percolator.
Purists will also say it overheats the bean.
(I wish I'd stayed with percolator - then I wouldn't know the difference between really good and mediocre and I'd have saved lots of money.)
