    Coffee Roasting

I've just discovered roasting your own coffee beans! Haven't had instant coffee in 30 years(or McDonalds!). Always liked proper coffee, carried an Italian coffee pot or plunger where ever I went especially when camping. Then I was told about roasting your own green coffee beans. Once you've tried it you will never go back!

Yep. I buy grean beans from www.coffeesnobs.com.au and roast my own. I use a popcorn popper but am looking at buying a rotisserie oven.

I have two conical burr coffee grinders, a DeLonghi KG100 (Solis 166/Starbucks Barista) for plunger coffee and an Iberital Challenge for the espresso.

I also have a couple of blade grinders but they aren't for good coffee.

I met JohnE to collect DiscoDave's door. John was going to Wagga via the M7 and I was travelling the M4 - they intersect near Maccas on the M4 -so we met for one of their machine-made cappuccinos - not the swill they serve from a glass jug on the stove-top. The only advantage of the auto machine coffee from Maccas is that it is better than many coffee shops make (it's consistently mediocre ) - that shows just how bad many coffee shops are.

Re the Hot-Top roaster, yes, I'd like one, too, but I fear I'll be making my own version.
