    Smile Sad day for Andy

My best mate and beloved 14 yeard old shepherd had to be put to sleep this morning his back legs gave out, I have felt sad and shattered all day, I had him from a pup and remember him fondly as the mutt that stripped the interior in my hilux and then started on my cherokee, solution, dont take dog incar anymore!, its always sad when a dog goes in last month I have lost 3, my little shihtzu was eaten by my Staffy so the staffy had to be put down, now Rusty is gone, sick of things dying lately, animals and humans alike. Rest in peace my old mate

    Bloody heck!

I know exactly how you feel having had to do the same with our lab last month. It really broke me up.

I'd be doing something and notice he wasn't there sticking his big nose into whatever I was doing or not tripping me up by being underfoot and I'd just start blubbering.

It does get better (says I wiping a tear from my eye).

I came home the other day to find my Wolfhound caught in the fence, and that was bad enough.

Yeah sounds like the Staffy really loved the shiztfurball, how long were they together before the inevitable happened..
Staffies are people dogs but generally dislike other animals I have found.
Sorry for your loss but having dogs all my life I have found that some breeds do not mix well like toy dogs and fighting breeds, even the gentlist staffy will get annoyed at a yapper sooner or later and a warning snap from a staffy will be fatal to a toy dog.
So give your heart a break and select your breeds more carefully.. you havent had much luck lately have you.

Man's best friend, a phrase coined for good reason....It hurts like buggery, I've been there and have another old fella about to go soon after 14 years...but I'm guessing you gave your old mate a wonderful life with plenty of highlights along the way...Maybe reflect on the early years...

Sorry to hear that, i have a black german shepherd named Zeus, he is pushing 7 years this september and starting to slow down a bit - finally out of his puppy stage at 49 dog years old! I dread the day he gets to old to go on, but 14yrs for a shepherd is a bloody good long life, he did well

Sorry to hear mate, at least he had a good run, I lost my shepherd in April due to a car , he was 8 yrs old and still miss him. Though this young fella at now almost 6 mths giving the family cat what for ( before people think he is attacking the cat, they are great mates, cats only a year old now and they play like 2 puppies) makes things alot easier, especially as he is related to my other shepherd. Chin up,

    Regards
