What a great day we had, met some new clan members, and got to see peices of Harvey that I havent been through before, some Extreme some not so.Convoyed down with Nige and his excellent daughter Shannon,
Sith and his nippers ,Me ole mates Jason and Claire,
Andy ,Marie and their offspring
We set off from the Maccas carpark around 7am meeting a few of the Clan along the way and met up with the rest of the AULRO crew at the Caltex around 8.30am .
After the usual how do you dos we headed for the place I like to call Gods Country
Once we all aired down we came to the log crossing which had quite a flow to it, where Sith decided to cross a log off to one side on foot to guide everyone across the first obstacle, saw some moss and thought he would step over that but instead went spinning like a ballerina into the water neck deep (Classic):D:D:D:D:D
After we headed off through some more challenging terrain unscathed we came to a bit of a halt as Chris had chosen to wedge his County in a (Bit):eek: of a rut once we had tried a single strap recovery to no avail both Sith and Nigel recovered Chris and his beasty to saftey after which we stopped for lunch and then ended the day with a tame track back to just before tarmac to air up and head home.
I would like to say thankyou to Nigel for leading us today and getting us all home safely ONYA NIGE :)

Yep another great day with a chance to put some faces to nicknames and the diversity of members rigs.
Very very soft N muddy with all the rain..I should have changed my wheels for Ice skates all the little creeks are running fast and a local told me the stirling dam is climbing a metre per day so all is good.
It is inspiring for me that a bunch of strangers can still get together in this great country of ours and become friends with the only real connection a Lump of aluminium and steel, seems the world is still not a bad place to be leaving our children.;)
Well we have to give RichardK a gentle slipper on the bottom to get him guiding the next one as we need some fresh ground to cover.;);) He really is the guide master for that area.

Ken, I have a really good Minolta Digital camera sitting in the cupboard collecting dust as it was the wifes since she saw the olympus waterproof jobby:D give me a call for some mates rates;);)
Taff n Claire were great company as usual, As is Andy and his family..although his wifes seat may need some attention after his three wheeling everywhere..awesome skills I think he has done this before;)
Great to meet Stuart (who wasnt sailing ) and his 06 Defender great beast out the box and not a bad fella for a ex pusser;);)
Chris and his mate were good value, Chris was unfortunate to have two skinny road tyres on the front of his V8 gas/petrol county..the mud wasnt being friendly but with guidnce on the right line of attack he got through everywhere us lifted and muddied vehicles did..but the dark horse was wearing Air springs on the back of his rig. One funny exception was guiding him through some deep rutts and over onto a bypass track turned my back for 2 minutes and he slid into a hole from which he had to be recovered using 2 vehicles and snatch ropes.

The foot pump is for if/when the $40 Supercrap compressor burns out, or for when I need to put a couple of psi into the air bag susp (like the time the computerised BP air line let all the air out one side and refused to pump any back in). Useful for pumping up the footy too.
I commend his (Andy's) bravery for using it in public with you lot there :D:D
Hmmm. Based on some of the comments on the outing yesterday I decided to check that my centre diff lock is actually working... and it seems to me that it ain't.
I lifted one wheel off the ground, engaged CDL, put it into gear and turned the motor (using a spanner on the crank pulley).
The lifted wheel turned happily in the air and there was no attempt by the vehicle to move forward.
Please can someone tell me if my logic is correct before I get the spanners out?
