Yeah, my understanding is the CDL does the same between front and rear axles that a locker did on an axle. i.e. If a front wheel is lifted, but both rears have traction, then both rears would still get 50% of drive. With no CDL, the lifted front would waste 100% of engine torque and the rear would get none.
