Thread: Pimping 4wd's

Hmm have to put in my 2 bob, got asked what "range rover sport" rims looked like on a p38 once, and I made up this pic of my actual car with the rims, was doing it at work (like all good gov servants) and all the guys at work were all "wow when did you get those thats hot" and it was the first time they didn't pay me out for driving my "truck" Range Rover. Then they saw I had just put them on and gave me more crap



Personally I don't like "blinged up" cars, I work in a fairly ritzy money based burb and there's two hummer's I see sometimes and they are GROSS with big shiny wheels, as well as the few porsche cayenneee thingees. There's a few blinged out black mitsi's and toyo's and even a blinged up defender I have seen a few times, got looks like 18 inch shiny's and is gun metal grey looking.

Then again I am blinging up my 81 Rangie, taken the door handles off and dropped them off at the electroplaters to have them chromed and I just started experimenting with the spray gun for one of them new pimped out colours



Each to their own, as long as its legal so it doesn't hurt me when they run into me!

I messaged 2 suppliers of these 20" wheels on Ebay last night and I got 1 reply that said only that "They are load rated and legal" and thats it.

I asked both if They would suit a 2002 Navara dual cab loaded to the max and towing a trailer and neither have replied since.

There was also a tyre advertised on there that I cant find now, that was rated as 95 something that id not heard of before (not saying that this is bodgy as I dont know everything about tyres).

For some reason, my question hasnt shown up in his add, just the same questions as all his other products advertised, I dont know if this is normal as I dont use Ebay that often.

Honestly eac to there own if someone wants 20 inch wheels on his landy then good luck to im, the greater majority of 4wds dont bush anyway, people have been lulled into a false sense of security, crieky Canberras roads are full of pimped up cruisers and heaps of them are 4wds, Mussos,BMWs, other exotic rubbish that wouldnt go anywhere other then bitumen, I have gone the self pimp on my series 3, I have 16 in stockers whoopee! ninety nine, one hundred change hands!

there are a few of the new shape Hilux's going around here with big bling rims.............

some dont look to bad i think it really depends on what style of rim they run on them


most of the newer 4WD's aint real 4wheelers anyway
