well i was doing a steady 100 for the most of 2hrs today and i never had any wobble!!! how ever saying that get them in the rutts that trucks have left on the black top and they are awful......but i dont have any probs with my'n horses for courses i suppose

the guy who balanced my'n took a longggggggggggg time he said that remoulds are the worst tyre to get balanced properly

Any tyre that has huge lugs is hard to balance
Remoulds wouldnt help much either:D

This assumes that the tyre fitter follows (knows about) the manufacturers standard. As they appear to be symmetrical across the tread of the tyre I do not see why a designated left tyre could not be fitted backwards on the rim thus making it a right tyre, with the MONGREL then being shown on the inside ie two wrongs would make a right. And if the fitter found he had four lefties s/he might just do that.

Surely the important part is that the tread scoop moves in the correct direction. However I must admit the OCD in me likes Dullbird's tyre fitter.

i have the monoform in the bfg mud terrain pattern and they go pretty g\ood off road

First impressions as expected they are noisy and if noise in the cab bothers you get them for play time only ! When I say noise I don’t mean like wear ear protection more like a turbo whine kicking in when you speed up. The faster you go the less noise there is.

As my 81’ RRC is synonymous with noise anyhow and I have a different vehicle for daily driving I can cope with the noise for the weekend.

Can’t comment on wear other than one days off-roading and the little rubber bits are still one the tyre tread.

I got the 31’s and the extra height is great lifts my diff’s up about 2” extra and now the diff s don’t scrape even on quite deeply rutted track.

It’s hard to comment on tyre unless they have been run for a while but at approx 20psi they ran great from gravel road to river crossing and soft sand. The extra grip up the river banks was noticeable.

I was initially concerned about how they would perform on soft sand with them being quite a deep mud terrain tyre but I was VERY happy with them, they were all set to between 20-22psi, (I have never been too pedantic about tyre pressure) and the front right I ran at about 24-26 because I found I had a leaky valve that morning. They ran a treat. I would say they even ran even better than the BFG’s & Nexens I ran before.

The only downside is that they rub the arches something chronic and have bent my front arch back on it’s self so some are trimming is imminent.

Balance seems fine with no wobbles or pulling what so ever at various speeds, so far so good but time is the best test.
