    MS Excel

Is it possible to set a password to prevent a person from viewing a single excel sheet within a workbook?

Not exactly, but what you can do is hide the rows or columns that you want to be hidden and then turn Worksheet protections on. Set a password and untick the option to allow all users to select locked cells.

This will stop them from being able to see or unhide the hidden cells.

If this is important data, don't rely on any of the password protection in MS Office. It takes seconds to get round if someone can use Google and is so inclined.

You can hide the sheet (Format>Sheet>Hide) and then password protect the workbook (Tools>Protection>Protect Workbook). The unhide option is not available once the workbook is protected. As stated above though people can apparently break the password protection easily, but in answer to your question....yes you can

So just hide what you want hidden, text copy what is visible to another spreadsheet and PDF that.

It is a spreadsheet solution for an IT assignment... I got so ****ed off trying to get the security actually secure that I loaded up a virtual machine, modified an old copy of XP to operate as my "application", exported everything to html format with javascript passwords and created a rather nifty access hierarchy... If anybody can get past it, I'll be to buckleys

Only downside is the 3.94 GB file size currently
