Interesting how well the dogs survived.
My cousin has two cattle dogs that go everywhere in the back of his 4wd ute. One day one of them strained against his lead one too many times and the clip broke so she fell out at about 110km/h on the Bruce Hwy. She landed on grass and when he finally got her back she jumped in the back of the ute like nothing had happened!
Couple of years ago, same thing, but not as fast - (about 60) grand daughter's mutt slipped its collar in the back of the ute and dived out - I didn't see him go, but I noticed this black thing in the mirror doing its best to catch up and turned round and looked in the back to find us short a dog - hadn't slowed him down any, although he did lose one claw, presumably when he hit the bitumen.Quote:

Had something similar happen to us when living in Sydney in the 70's, at Burwood shopping centre,Thursday night shopping, came back to the car (EH wagon) there was this kid 13/14 with his arm in through the drivers window, had my Cattle dog attached to it:o he had the hide to tell me that he had left his keys in the car and the dog grabbed him:( so when I produced THE KEYS and said that I would give him a 5 second head start before I let the dog out:twisted: called dog off, he cleared VW bonnet and off, counted to 5 and let dog out:) it was gaining on him when he went down the ramp, hit the road, then I called dog off:D bet he didn't try to steal an EH again for a while
