I gave up smoking 4 years ago, I did 40 aday and just came home one day and said to myself, thats enuff your killing yourself, so I chucked the lot out, washed everything, the first 3 days was murder but I did it, I can pick a smoker from 30 meters, I can smell em coming, I am trying to give my diet the same conviction, so far its ok and bearable, just waiting for the resident expert on everything to say give up the beer!

    Mate
I did 2 years off work with a stuffed back.
Doc wouldnt let me in the gym(workers comp),but did the pool every second day for 18months.Hard work at first, just walking up and down.Get a physio to help, after my first 30min session I needed assistance to get out of the pool,it was like I was filled with lead.
Its great excercise, easy when you are used to it,no swimming needed, just walking/marching/other excercises. The water supports everything so its not as hard on you as the gym.
Towards the end I was doing 4 hours in the pool!!!!

Carbs are the killer , give spuds, bread, rice and pasta the flick and watch the results. Beer is not really a carb, no smart arsed comments on the beer bit please!
