Mother in law does. She still gets up a couple of times in the night but she is a lot better than she used to be.
Its not Landy chat tonite, its medical stuff, how rivetting!, Do any of u suffer from sleep apnoea, anyone use a Resmed Vpap machine, wanna compare notes on how long u can sleep with the mask on for and wether or not u suffer the dramas I do with my 4,000 buck tyre pump?![]()

I have found that havin a big glass of water and reading helps me to relax and fall asleep.
PS well done with ure diet.Stick to it.
I had Bypass 2 yrs ago and Have lost 20 kg. Now at my recommended BMI. Returned to wrk 5 mnths after surgery and have not looked back. Lucky we have such ExcellentNurses and Doctors here in Aus.
They are a credit to our Nation.
I would not have a third chance at life if it were not for these amazing people.
Cancer 5 0r so yrs ago all gone.
Anyway good luck with diet stay focused and keep well.:-)
When I was diagnosed recently my sleep specialist was asking me why I was still alive, he was fullof good news like the rest and said your that critical I am bypassing all the BS and putme straight on a pump, my oxygen sats were dropping to below 50percent and my apnoea event were nasty when I had my sleep asessment, my machine runs fairly generous pressures as my throat literally closes, the problem I have is I can sleepon my back or front and can only sleep on my sides, the face muscles are fairly floppy so whenI lie on my side my mask leaks and carrys on and blows air over my eyes which annoys me, I put the mask on when I go to bed, usually ditch it onehour later due to dry mouth and a taste of freshly applied deoderant spray in the mouth, so I sleep without till I awake at 3 for my nightly wee, I then put the mask bck on and can usually keep iton until 5 or 6 in the morning then it goes off again, I havent been able to keep it on for a full night, I have flemmy lungs from smoking and the moisture fromthe dehumidifier on the pump seems to lift the flemm and I have all sorts of coughing dramas, I am due for a another sleep test soon so they can see for themselves, I was hoping my problems were common to vpap users
And dont I know it, steady as she goes, it will come of slowly, its lifestyle changes as well so its a big shake up, undoing 20 years of good living, not!
Sounds terrible.... however accurate it is....
I lost 35 kg in 6 months during the breakup... and I couldn't get enough sleep... 10 - 12 hrs at night and still have a nanny nap in the arvo
Good luck Landy... if shear bloody determination is what's required, then you'll get there.
BTW, is it necessary to have a mask ? what about those things that go in ya nostril ? not enough air pressure I guess...
Cheers,
Pete
Been on my machine for about 4 years. I have a Respironics REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP. It has the computer chip in it so i can take it to the clinic and get a print out of my stats and if any adjustments need to be made. It also adjusts airflow during my sleep to suit how I am breathing and how I should be.
Took me about 2 weeks to get used to it; haven't looked back really. I sleep all night, heh with sleep apnea, I can sleep anywhere, anytime.![]()
. I have the full face mask, the Mirage Activa. It too leaked a little until adjusted properly. I only sleep on my side but as yet, have not used the humidifier.
Best of luck with it.
