    Box o bits.

Ok so we now all know big red is getting a service and a lot of it is pre-emptive strikes or what I call insurance replacements.

Given the number of trips that leave the brissy area I have an idea... bare with me..

A lot of you know that I pack a lot when I travel.. I now have a bunch of spare parts that will go into a box and sit in one of my hideyholes around the place till I go on a big trip and think "hrmmm might need them" (ok thats likely to be next week when I goto aldi )

    MY question

Is anyone interested in having access to the box o bits that I pull off after my service as an emergancy parts pack?

    It will likely contain

    all the defender intercooler hoses
    a rocker gasket
a cleaned out and resealed injector harness
all the cooling system hoses (includes the heater)
    serpentine belt
    idler pully
    tensioner
    set of hub bearings
    misc nuts bolts and studs.

Sounds like a great idea Dave... and then those that borrow your kit for a trip away can obviously replace what they use.

pahh its old second hand stuff. its there to get you out of trouble till you get a new bit. If its ok when you get the new bit back in the box it goes.

Shouldn't that be in the thread about the trip to River Island?

But back on subject, I keep my old bits for emergency spares so it sounds like a good idea.

I chuck nothing out regardless of how knackered it is coz u never know when u may need it, I would have thought a spares kit in any Landy was a good idea, my spares package would need its own trailer!

Mine does and a shed, and a garage, and 4 boxes out in the yard... and some shelf space at work... and a second vehicle............... oh yeah and another trailer at work....

I could almost build a rover from the ground up if someone donated a good chassis and firewall
