Well every time I got in trouble as a young bloke the instructers used to say to me the same thing.

I worked with a guy who's makes a crust flying choppers. I asked him what's it like to fly one....

His answer was: try standing on a rolling bowling ball when you're p1ssed...:D

BTW: I had the best hour or so, hanging (strapped) out the side of the Lifesaver chopper ( MBB ) over Sydney a few years back, shooting a tv commercial, a truly amazing place to take in the scenery....and get paid

Lowest I've seen was a Navy A4 skyhawk pilot.
Training off the East coast, just not enough throttle on, came in a touch too low and wiped out his undercarriage on the flight deck round down.
Wheels, suspension legs, fuel tanks, all bouncing down the deck all over the place. Sparks, smoke, flames, all very exciting.
He just held her on full throttle and clawed his way back into the air, and landed safely on a foam blanket sprayed on the runway at the Naval Air Station.

Used to know a qantas pilot, owned a P38 Mustang. He was doing an airshow, low level 400 MPH pass.
A 9 foot propeller blade, at 8 feet of altitude doesn't work. Made a big mess of his lovely airplane.

And probably the most impressive piece of flying, I have ever seen, was the first 747 test flight. Video footage only of course. The test pilot was grounded for his trouble, but, he thought the original 747 was so nice to fly, he reckoned he could victory roll her.
So he did, on her maiden flight. It really was such a graceful thing to watch.
