Awsome area hey roverfj1200 we usaly camp about 10 mins south of Freshwater camping ground
on the foreshore,many good memories there one involving an esky of homebrew a rising tide and nealy getting run over lol im more mature now though :D maybe :P

If I just want somewhere quiet and peaceful, I can't go past Bendethra Valley in Deua National Park.
That's not just because it is only 70km from home, nor because the road in is just difficult enough to keep out some of the riff raff, but because you can camp there at the same time as a dozen other groups and not be aware of their presence.
The valley was cleared in about the middle of the 19th century, so now there is a 4km long section of the river with a couple of dozen places you can camp right on the Deua River without seeing anyone who might be camping a couple of hundred metres up or down the river. If you don't want to camp right beside the river there is space for another several dozen groups.
The Kimberleys is a magic part of the world.
Spring Creek on the Bullita Stock route in Gregory NP has the best private, natural swimming hole I have ever seem.
Come to think of it, there are a lot of magic spots in Australia.

I love camping anywhere in the Otways . Always plenty to do and see :)

Alan, looks like we both think alike, looks like the spot I usually camp at Bendethra, I also like Dry Creek, I usually travel into Bendethra from Dry reek and along Mericumbene then down to Bendethra and it's all so close, magic, Regards Frank.

I'll add a third to Bendethra valley, I've been heading in and out of there since the early 80s, magic spot.

Gets a bit crowded at easter, but then again 'crowded' is relative.

The Vic High Country, Dog Rocks state forrest in NSW and a few difficult spots to get to along the Blackwood river in WA

Hell, anywhere near water that is sparsely populated is fine by me !
