Try the arogance of bus drivers in Adelaide. The law was changed to give them right of way when pulling out in to traffic. Now they literally just pull out too bad if you are alongside them or right on the back corner.

Some are still responsible and if motorists had been more accomodating then the legislation wouldn't have been needed. (now that public transport has been privatised they get fined if they are running late..... drivers not letting them out was making them late especially in peak hour)

But there is something seriously wrong when you legislate to allow a vehicle to pull out in to traffic and it they get right of way!

your kidding....... what a bizarre post. you said you have been riding bikes for 55 years,,, that would make you how old.....

Back on the bar stool cowboy.. I am a bike rider and I don't like bully's in cars either,, or on bikes.

But in 25 yrs of bike riding I have not behaved in such a way as to **** someone off so bad that they have tried to bully me with a car

I wasn't suggesting anyone was "tough".?? I was just noting the risks involved with anyone kicking the door of any vehicle when sitting on a bike..... its not just illegal its also dangerous to all concerned. And I am not the only person who would treat someone who kicks my door with such contempt.

A mirror slap, or a finger, or even a level headed quite word at the next set of lights yes,, but booting a door is aggression that will cost the driver much money,, and **** him off more. not a good mix.

AND as for the pwissing contest...No I wont be in Cooma.

    Very amusing.

Ahh , most amusing. not as funny as the picture formed by the original post in this thread, just weird funny.

I dont let Dickheads bully me, I like to pound their heads especially if they are hoons.
If you were the cyclist that was run off the road by the bus, what would you do ?
If I am at the head of the cue or in the middle, I just
go about my business without interfering with anyone.
When I am on the motorcycle I will go thru to the head of the cue if I can do that without bothering anyone.
Mostly people dont give a stuff but sometimes you come across one that gets up in arms and wants to thro his weight about because he thinks he is safe and a hero in his car. I just ignore him unless he tries something stupid like coming after me, when he does that he's in trouble, because sooner or later he will have to get out and guess who will be there.
I dont like road rage or people being overly agressive towards others less able to take care of themselves.
I wonder how tough you are without your two tonne LR ?
Are you going to Cooma ?

Duff, I didn't say that I kicked a car door while sitting on my bike. That would be silly.
The incident in question occured when a hoon tried to
run a Motorcyclist off the road, not once but twice. I chased him down and ordered him out of the vehicle, when he refused, I kicked my way in and
arrested him. He got hurt. He was charged. Hence my
    reference to hero's.
My Brother in Law ( had two kids ) was killed on his motorbike by a ratbag. He thought he had gotten away with it. He was mistaken.
I never go looking for trouble but if it comes, I am in
    boots and all.
I am from the old school, hoons dont learn when they
get off easy with the Law. I prefer to thump the buggers untill they get the message. These days the
Law can let you down very easily. Just yesterday here,
a young Pakistani trainee Doctor admitted and was charged with molesting a boy. He got off lightly, no
conviction was recordered and he is allowed to continue his training and work here as a Doctor ?
It's none of my business, but if it was....
If you havent had trouble with an overly aggressive motorist, you have been lucky. Many have and many
have died or been injured. I wonder how you will
handle it ? Meekly I expect.
I will continue to ride between the lanes of stopped traffic if I think that I can do it safely without scaring
any one. I am always aware tho that perhaps there will be one in the line that will fly into a rage because he
hates the fact that I can move about freely with greater mobility. Thats his problem and I suspect that
he would probably be a wife bashing type of hero.
    I dont like them either.
Why do I do it ?
Two reasons, first because I like to get away and
    clear of traffic and trouble.
The main reason tho is because my wife has been ill for the past ten years and I am her Carer.
If I am on the bike its because I am in a hurry as
she cant be left alone for too long on that particular day.
Not that thats any of your business.
By the way, I dont sit on bar stools and dont let my age fool you. If I am attacked, I have learnt very well how to protect myself and others. Two eyes for an eye. Up front tho, bugger sneaking around in the dark.
I am not interested in ****ing contests either, that's
    schoolboy stuff.
If you have decided that you dont like me, thats cool.
It's a small world, we may meet somewhere, then you
    can sort me out, eh.

Dude, I don't know what your problem is ! but each of your post's have sounded completely reasonable ....... until you add what seem to be very school boyish. comments like those below in the quote.

Why the truck would you even think to,,,, wonder how tough I am, and in the same sentence ask if I am going to be in Cooma. ( ohh and while you are in Cooma, there is a real good chance I will be in the middle east, MEEKLY partaking in war)

Why the truck would you presume I would meekly do anything. (though given the chance I would probably choose that path)

Why the truck do you assume I would need/want to sort you out.. EH.... We have vastly different opinions on lane splitting and door kicking, that's all'',, nothing to sort out !

Your posts have struck me as aggressive, presented as a challenge and somewhat presumptuous. I apologize if I have incensed you. The bar stool line was intended as a light hearted reference to "calm down" and made in theme with your stock whip and RM Williams post. The reference to your age was sarcasm aimed at your apparent testosterone level clashing with your estimated age,, I should have used plain english for that, I'm sorry. AND I miss understood the door kicking bit. But you did say

Stuff what the law says about riding to the head of the cue, its about survival in a hostile envirenment.
Sometimes you end in a confrontation with a Dickhead,
but its not surprising how weak they become after
they have gained an RM Williams boot impression in a door panel.

Hostile environment,,, its a road.(but i get what ya sayin) I reckon If ya know that by you breaking the law pwisses people off, then just put up with the one in a million driver that gives you a mouth or full sits on the white line stop you lane splitting, If you think they are dickheads for getting angry,,, and you get more angry ?? I ask the question...
A good survival technique could also be, sit in cue/que/queue/line at a safe distance like the rest of the world and not roar up a tight zone where a non rider wouldn't expect to see you. (keep in mind, I lane split every now and then , but just because I can,, no justifiable reason, and if someone trucks up and takes me out ...MY BAD in that situation,,, wont go kickin doors).

You sound obsessed with comments structured with violent competitiveness.... Very presumptuous over the net.

I neither like or dislike you,, I don't know you! Just know that I disagree with you on road raging.

    Over and out

Duff, I dont have an aggressive bone in my body nor do I ever threaten anyone and I have actually never started a fight in my life but have never backed away from one either. I used to get paid to sort out hardcases so the idea of protecting the public, remains. It may be a failing but I have always dealt
with trouble in my own way without asking anyone
else to handle it for me. In these days of political
correctness crap, I probably break the Law at times
rather than calling on it. Fortunately the big city nonsense hasn't spread too far yet, but the writing is on the wall.
As I have said before, when I die I want to come back a 150 year ago.
I dont roar down between lanes as you suggest but do
it slowly only when I think that I can do it safely, if not I stay in line. Up here in these rural areas you have to remember that a line of traffic might consist of a dozen
vehicles in peak hour. Still, there is always the dickhead that wants to bully whether you lane split or not. I still say that you are lucky if it hasn't happened
to you. When it does you will have to think very quickly about your course of action. If you do nothing you may just be passing the buck and putting the next poor unfortunate at risk. I am not talking about silly little
incidents but serious aggression that can be lethal.
You must have seen road rage incidents on TV, people
get hurt. What is to be done if a turkey jumps out of his car and goes for somebody with a baseball bat ?
Run away, run over him or lash his nuts with a stockwhip an let the cops sort it out ?
These things happen everyday, unfortunately. It's the
world we live in now. These days every young hoon
    carries a knife, it seems.
I have ridden motor bikes for some years in Sydney, I
would not do it today. in fact I dont ever want to see
a big city again in my life.
I have spent years working in the bush, wearing Williams gear and using a stockwhip and being around hard men, that like to drink and fight. I continue to do it. Nothing will change that. Even tho I have retired
to care for my wife, we still spend a lot of time on various friends cattle stations. I repair fences, stockyards and kill and dress a beast when required.
I help out with mustering. My little bird loves to go
mustering in the Disco. When its in the ranges or thick
scrub we do it on horseback.
its got nothing to do with testosterone or being
aggressive, its a way of life. Some people here on the Forum will know what I mean. I would not dream ot going off without me stockwhip, good Lord.
I admit, when I asked you if you were going to Cooma,
I was just trying to get a rise out of you. I dont get
incensed about this sort of stuff, that would be childish.
I like a verbal joust as long as it doesn't get nasty or too personal, paticularly with strangers.
In the scrub you mostly have to make your own fun,
and perhaps I overlooked the fact that you may not
have spent enough time in the outback, to understand us.
If it makes you feel better tho, I'll assume that you are a hero, would that be Ok ?
    Take care.
