Thread: Female prejudice to old Landys

Some intersting replies, a Fender is however a slightly more attractive beast then the old Series, I had to make certian concessions to get mine to come round the country, she wanted aircon, dvd and not to drive it, I agree on the driving be she would knacker the clutch in no time and most likely run up the bum of a Hyundai or something coz she misjudged the stopping prowess of the Freak, changed the name to Freak now. I see a fair few Discoes around here being driven by the ladies, dont see them in a Series unless they are driving it to the scrapper! or to a mine shaft!

I used to like driving the series III - thought of it as a bit of a thrill.

Anticipate the need to stop, pump the brakes a little and then hope for the best

Just used to annoy me around town when idiots would pull in front of you and take over your breaking space!

Yes the old pumping the brakes bit, must always make a mental note of where other cars are parked in the yard, I did rearrange the look of my wifes AU coz I hit the brakes and the pedal floored, by the time I pumped them up, too late!, lucky for me brakes have since been overhauled and its not so much of a problem,

Same here, thinks rangies and discos are vets cars (something about a country practice I think).

I'm working on her to get a cheap disco as an off road plaything though

Like me my wife loaths anything that takes up valuable space, costs a small fortune to upkeep and never works.

    Ironically she owns a horses.

When no one would buy it I decided to rebuild it. However due to my work commitments nothing has happened and will not for quite some time.

We own horses too and its funny how she will spend the earth on her horses yet I am lucky to get 50 bux to buy something, know wonder it takes so long to rebuild one. I need this I need that for the horses and now wehave big local show coming up and she will want a new rug and probably new boots. Blah blah it goes on

My late wife was quite happy to drive either the 110 or the 2a, even long distance and by herself, although she found the 2a was too hard to steer as she got weaker. Also found the spare on the 110 too heavy tolift onto the carrier.
