i have a telstra next g samsung a501 haven't had a problem with it {almost 12 months old} would recommend it no worries![]()
Ah the old, have to buy a new phone complaint.
Started off with a motorola half brick still have it, because I got a handsfree kit for it, worked a treat in never never land because it would roam to an available network, a bit bulky on the belt though.
then they changed it all, first digital was an ericsson, still have them and a spare, why, because I have two handsfree in car with aerial kits for them, good as a what if backup phone, then went to nokias and haven;t looked back, great phones, take a knock well.
last plan was with the ericcsons, when I want a new one, i buy a cheap prepaid on the same network and use my simcard.
my current handsfree with aerial ( and it works, cost all of $5) works a treat on the nokia, but not on the camera phone I was given.
Like some I woke up to them years ago, i'll get a new phone on my terms not theirs. ( In case I didn;t tell you i like my handsfree's, don;'t like bluetooth, pinkmouth or any other non wired accessory)
They shut down my western districts phone, cdma, because I wasn;t using it.
So now, well lets see what happens, but as NM's said she is not important enough for a phone other than for her own convenience, ditto from, me, after all you only talk to people on them, same as the one at home and it doesn't take photos.play music, have a tuner or internet access.
my 5 cents worth

I'm getting about 3 text messages per week from Telstra asking me to switch from my high end Nokia CDMA in favour of Next G. I have asked them about deals for existing CDMA customers and they have said there are none, so I'm waiting until they turn it off. If they still want me as a client they can offer me a deal on my 2 year old $600 phone. I had to pay that much to get a Blue Tooth headset option plus a load of other crap that I don't use.
We just obtained a Samsung model from Hardly Normal on the $0.00 down and $20.00 per month plan.
They threw in one of those MIO c220 DigiWalker GPS units at no charge.
