A mate and I are going in on Friday arvo/evening, since he managed to score a pair of free tickets. ;)

Toyota even had the temerity a number of years ago to release a Snowy badged Landcruiser. For the first six years of the scheme Landcruisers didn't exist. The original surveying and ground exploration works were carried out by WW2 Jeeps and S1 Landrovers. And although a number of problems with the early vehicles were encountered, according to the head mechanics at the time, the Landrovers were a better all round vehicle.;)
Car brochures are soo damn flash these days, that they're costing up $20 each, finished. (Some cost more, like what MB produces).
Be much cheaper to knock out a decent dvd, given so much footage exists...

Ok, well, as promised, photos!
It was pretty busy last night, as you can see in the photos, it was pretty hard to get a nice clear shot of everything.
All of the photos are in my gallery here, but here's a few to get you going.
What's where:

My mate (got us free tickets) checking out a FL2 - he liked it, but it wasn't what he'd pick to drive home in!

I notice they haven't changed these rivets!

Some changes in the back:

Unfortunately rest of my inside shots aren't the best.
I was surprised at the interest in the Defender, but also at some of the antics - a guy got in the back of it, had his mates shut the door then popped it open pretending to fire a machine gun!!
Spoke with a guy who was showing it to his daughter - he used to have a '51 Series I (from his accent I guess in England), when he asked what they were like to drive, I answered: :D:D:D
Then came "You love it, don't you"!!
Also at the show was the Bufori 'La Joya' MkIII - I certainly like the idea, but am not overly impressed about the styling - http://www.aulro.com/app/data/500/thumbs/IMG_0388.JPG
And DO these look familiar!!
http://www.aulro.com/app/data/500/thumbs/IMG_0389.JPG:eek:
Anyway, I had a good night - went on the 4WD track too, but no pics (too dark). Oh, and the fact that we went in a VW Toureg (not worth wasting memory on)
Went to the show on Friday as well....took the kids, had a great time. Bought a landy cap, drooled over the defender and D3. Went for a spin around the 4wd track in the D3...good fun.
The pimped Alpine Chrysler 300C was an eye popper.
Good pics Geoff. I see the Bufori girl in the cat suit was still there last night :)
Don't Land Rover employ any marketing people in Australia?

If Toyota are advertising their links to the Snowy Scheme, why doesn't Land Rover have a big sign saying that they were on the scheme before there were any roads and a decade before any Japanese marques were in the Australia.

By the look of the stand - they didn't even put any effort in there either.

I went to the LR Expo - saw the Defender the day before (in the shed) - was given a Range Rover Sport cap and a Land Rover cap.
To top it off, I got half a dozen (or more) really big colour posters of Landies and some smaller ones, plus a Land Rover driving DVD, several bottles of effective pest repellent plus other goodies - all for free!!!!
