Who likes pork?

This is the THIRD election in a row that Prime Minister Howard has tried to "buy". The government is attempting to shift the focus from Iraq (the neverending deployment) and Workplace "reform" by waving fistfulls of cash in front of middle Australia. I hope we won't be suckered in AGAIN.:mad:

$20 in the hand this week won't seem like much when people are negotiated down $40 a week by their EBA.

The question that should pop into everybody's mind when this kind of Pork Barrelling occurs is - with YEARS of budget surplusses, doesn't it stink that the government waits until 6 weeks before an election to roll out some cash relief? If people fall for it again then they must have also lost their sense of smell when they were lobotomised by the Coalition three years ago.

And don't get me started on education or the environment...

The Libs have done an excellent job with the economy (lucky everyone wants the stuff we dig up!) but not so hot on refugees/Iraq/environment. Depends where your priorities lie.

I don't think it matters much who gets in. Neither are wildly extreme and it will be just more of the same.

If we were faced with the prospect of becoming a communist/facist country it would be more critical but Lib/Labour are pretty close on the political spectrum.

I'll be giving my vote to Mr Howard again this time. Don't think Mr Rudd and his team have got the depth of the Liberal team, and for some reason I really don't like Julia Gillard, although I am sure she is a wonderful intelligent woman.
