"71 Series IIA Skippy going up for sale--Value?

Can u guys help? I bought this Landrover Series IIA, supposedly Skippy model about 2 years ago, and need to sell it for financial reasons. I paid $7,500 US Dollars.

It is quite original, with some cosmetic updates like paint, seats, etc. Body & everything are in great shape, little rust, etc.

What do you think is fair price to ask for this? Anyone want to come to Colorado to buy it? THANKS!

Have you looked at the REMLR section? "Skippies" are SWB, ex-NZ (and some or all originally ex-Australian) military vehicles. I'd doubt that more than a handful would be in the USA. On this side of the Pacific would be worth 1/2 what you paid, but on your side is worth whatever you can convince someone to part with.

I'd suggest posting the identifying information here, preferably with photos, obtaining the Australian and if possible New Zealand military registration numbers and then advertising based on the historical rarity.

And please make sure you find a good owner for it

G'day All, Hi JulieandCraig, shame you have to part with it, and if it's still in the same condition as when you bought it, I would think that you would have a chance at recovering your outlay. You will need to find somewhere in the US to list it other than ebay so I'm no help with any of that, you could try some of the Land Rover forums in the US and or Land Rover clubs anyway cheers Dennis

    Hi Julie or Craig

There are some LR fora in the US or I could post it on the Series 1 list (hosted in California) for you but would need more details about the vehicle and your contacts.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
