    2007 Defender 110 test drive

Didn't expect to do it, but just done it, so quick report.

Pulls very well I should say. From first impression nearly like chipped TD5, probably 90%. On 6-th gear does 2200 revs at 120km/h. Strange feeling about the engine/transmission while changing gears up, probably more vibration goes back to body, or engine works hard to get speed up.

Didn't like aircon noise, might be because just jumped from Commodore. Air flow improved, the brochure says the truth. More space for legs, should be OK to drive in rubber boots

The floor step under rear seats shorter back, what makes more space for rear passengers legs too. Rear seats lower, compare to TD5, better for adults, not for kids who like watching driving action, IMHO. No carpets like in top UK models, all rubber. Same in load area.

Rear suspension with anti-roll bar (110 model). Springs hard too.

The clutch drum about 1" lower chassis rails. Can't tell for sure why, might be a drum size increased compare to TD5 or lower the center. If it just lower, shouldn't be problems with lifting more than 2", IMHO. Disadvantage - have to be carefull driving over logs, no way simply slide on chassis rails.

Looks good. Some mods still required

    Cheers,
    Ruslan

Hey Pedro - I have a plan - some "last day of my life without a Land Rover" beers tonight and hit the sack dreamin' Chawton White!

But yeah - it's been a long wait - looking forward to hooking up with everyone on a drive soon.
