    The Google

    I was reading in another thread that if you type the word define: and another word, 'the google' defines it for you. Thats neat!
    Are there any other 'google cuts' or similar nifty things 'the google' can do?
    Might be handy to know 'em

    Yep, you can use it as a calculator.

    Try typing 2+2 <enter>

    google.. its the swiss army knife/landrover of the internet.....

    it can find info

    its a calculator

    its a convertor (type in convert 1 inch to centimeters for example)

    it can get you directions

    it can tell you where you are.

    it can spell check

    its a translator (perhaps the first incarnation of the universal translator)

    it can find synonyms and antinyms (notice i have never ever used the previous feature)

    AND

    It'll find you a coffee.... (add coffee shop in your map query)

    When it can get the coffee delivered to me I'll be seriousl y seriously happy

    If you haven't used google maps you should...... it is an incredibly powerful application.

    How about making your browser homepage google?

    This is fantastic. I work with Italian & French machinery and many of the more detailed publications are not yet available to me in English!!
    I don't know how I used to get by without google translate

    Oh Yeah, I remember altavista, and did use balefish a while ago, I probably haven't used it for almost that long though
