    LR Defender High Milage Club

    Hi,

after a spontaneous Meet 'n' Greet with friends of mine in Munich we, how else could it be, started discussing about travels and our Defenders.
Now, as we both have rather high milages on our 1996 300Tdi engines and the engine was only developed to last for about 200.000km we were wondering who may have the 300Tdi with the highest milage.

It's just about the 300Tdi and it should be a genuine image of the odometer and the car (maybe with a short description of how it's being used and what has been replaced sofar).

I'll start with my Rhino-Lady and as the milage has changed a little since I have left the Australian Pub in Munich last night, here's an image from this morning...

It's an 300Tdi build in 11/1996 with just minor upgrades to the engine. It still has the original gearbox (I wonder for how long ) and the original transmission. The injectors were replaced at 250.000km and the cooler at 290.000km)
I use it as a daily driver and do a lot of travelling and offroading (Mongolia and back - 18.132km in 4 weeks).

But now I am curious what you are driving. Will there be a 300Tdi with more than 400.000 or even 500.000km on the original engine?

    So long, Robert

    200TDI, 304,000km, new injectors 1 week ago.

Who says they were developed to give only 200.000 km?

It was stated in a publication by Land Rover sometime ago and can also be found on the ads for the International 2.8TGV engine.

When was your Defender build and do you have an image or two?

    Cheers, Robert

Mines just clicked the magic 200,000km..apart from the timing belt n case, just the regular oil changes and every 2 tanks gets a diesel treatment..

    Mine's an early 300tdi
Can't be sure of the K's because the odometer broke at 100000 but I guess it's up around 200000.
I over revved it in low range a couple of weeks ago and now there is a strange vibe in the engine.
It's going like a train but I can't find the vibe.
It's had a few timing belts and the pullies replaced, belts now lasting well.
It had new injectors at approx 150000k's
As far as I know that's it. I bought it with 66000k's on it.
I hope the vibe isn't indicative of it dying at 200000
