Got to Perth on Sunday, this is my first chance to get on. The trip over was pretty uneventful, flat tyre thirty kilometres past Wilcannia, star in the windscreen in WA. Only real advice I can give except the obvious, is to avoid buying fuel at Border Village - it was 30c more than any other I saw. Quite hot, but not impossibly so. Noted that fuel consumption dropped from about 11 to 10 l/100km by driving at 100 instead of 110.
The quarantine inspection at both SA and WA borders are quite strict and thorough, especially the WA one. No fruit, vegetables, plant material, used vehicles or machinery (unless spotlessly clean for these).
Arrived at Norseman on Friday, but since the accommodation in Perth was not flexible, spent the weekend touring SW WA.
Anyone going anywhere near it is advised to stop at the Toy Museum in Wilmington, even if not interested in toys - it is easily spotted by the row of Landrovers in front in the main street, and if you are in a Landrover David will greet you with open arms.
