thanks ken, good to meet you to. hope your moving is going o.k.
a few more pics of the county, painting still ALMOST complete. I'm happy with the drivers side and back, but need to do both doors on the passenger side again particulary the rear which doesn't look too bad in the photo's but is quite bad close up. once all the painting is complete and i'm happy with it i'll spend a day buffing/cutting and getting all the paint up to scratch.

as you can see i've just started to put on some of the stickers but am having an issue with the colour of the orange on the main stickers which doesn't match with the paint work. been onto the person i got the stickers off and they are going to make me another set which will hopefully be a better colour match

Hi there
Top effort - I have forwarded your pictures to a friend of mine in Whyalla as he wants to do the same with his county
looking good.
All the best
Wayne
Looks fantatsic, well done!
BTW, where did you get the G4 stickers? I enquired at LR for some and they were $50 a set for small ones.....
Have you checked to see if external roll cages are legal ? I just phoned up the DPI cause I want one as well and they reckon that you can only have them registered with an external roll cage if its registered as a rally car, and you can only use it on road in between events...
Unless this is going to be a rally car ?
Nice car by the way :)
Roll Over protection devices are legal in WA, see construction and installation guidelines here
My understanding is that the two main concerns with ROPD are passenger and pedestrian safety.
The former is concerned with potentially intervening objects in passenger headspace (i.e. for internal roll cages) in collision situations. The latter is concerned with pedestrian safety. I've discussed the latter with 2 different DPI tech staff, both confirming that so long as the ROPD doesn't "significantly" protrude outside the vehicle envelope, it is deemed OK. Which they agree, for a Deefer, is not an issue. For a disco?? - I'd confirm it with the DPI prior to sinking the dosh for a cage.
Cheers
Bloody nice Taff,, cant wait to see it finished, sitting in the sun:D
