oh this is a good sign

well the landrover service has already started

we should of be recieving our new defender around this friday that would be 10 days from when the car was docked..........like we were told.

    we got an email today;

Just wanted to update you on the car. It appears that it wont arrive this week as Land Rover are telling us there is a transport delay on the cars. We are hoping to see the car early next week but I will let you know when we get a firmer date. Also , I remember you were after some pricing on some accessories. My computer has unfortunately crashed and I lost the list. Could you please re-send it to me and I will get these prices for you now

hopefully it will come early next week as we have planned to go away for the weekend in it next weekend
i hope this isn't a sign of things to come

My nice new Rossignol (1995) sat a (northshore, sydney) dealership for two weeks, drove past it every day; I rang 'em every day, they said: 'tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow'..........

Reminds me of the sign in the local pub, "free beer tomorrow"

Maybe ring the big guy at the shop: "Can I please, please have my car?" Do it several times a day.

He'll soon tire of your persistence...

Just ensure they don't fit you up with one the test vehicles which ACE saw recently.

I would not accept a test vehicle under any circumstances... even it was free, as the dramas then belong to you for a very long time.

I made a tv commercial for the Daihatsu Rocky in 1993, the supplied vehicle (4,000ks) was from the test fleet, it was cactus, had been left in a creek, the engine couldn't be found for mud, the interior was 'wet' and every time it had to do 'action' for the commercial it dropped pounds of of dried mud...

Motoring journos were responsible for its condition.

Later, a Feroza was only marginally better...

Another manufacturer supplied a 4wd which was 'new???' but had been been 'cut and shut'...

And I have several other stories to do with this category...

One smartie drove a (then new) Patrol thru deep water until the water came out of the cabin/dash vents,
    it eventually died...

I know these guys have a job, but abuse, far beyond the vehicles stated abilities, is dumb...

    Provenance!

On the grounds of this statement can we all drive a new holden over the rooftops of high rise buildings in the CBD or move the earth in a V8 Land cruiser or make a hurricane by doing donuts in a Holden ute?

It is a lifelong dream of mine to buy a brand spanker, drive the car in the exact conditions the advertisment for the product portrays, then take it back to the dealer busted, broken and bent with the video tape, inform them I have done this in the vehicle, show them the video and then their advert for the vehicle. Then say fix it under warrantee

But I aint made of money so it will never happen.

Anyway back to topic, Lou, what was the promised delivery date on the 110?

Looks like the dealer is showing his true colours on delivery of the 110, asked them to please see if i could get it next week as we were going to take it camping the following weekend. bear in mind it was docked on the 5th and the dealer said about ten days to delivery,
did not think i was being totaly unreasonable with the request but his return e mail mentioned contract delivery dates and cancelling the order, were the hell did that come from, not got the new toy yet and its starting to taste a bit sour.
should not the process of getting a new car be all joy, may be i was kidding myself after so many years of dreaming.
